Otto the Dachshund

I'm Otto. I'm pretty much a brute, as far as being a miniature is concerned. But size is just about where the "brute" ends. Underneath the big chest and huge paws, I'm a true softy. I love to lay in the sun, sing- (o.k.- a sort of howl) , and eat! People have said that we dachshunds are no good with babies and kids. I'm here to set the record straight. My dad was great with kids, and so am I!
My owner dad (Steven)  lets me be his buddy on occasion, even took me up in his airplane a few times! And owner Mama Mia loves on me when I'm sad or a little lonely. Of course, I have rather sad eyes, and I DO play that up a bit. I really do try hard to understand when humans talk to me. I cock my head and stare at their eyes, really trying to understand!
Auntie M is very special to me. She took care of me when I was a baby. When she comes to visit, I bark a sort of "Woo Woo", ending with a bit of a howl. (I just get so excited, I can't seem to shut it down!) Of course, I have been known to bark at a leaf fluttering down the street, but that was just for practice. I'm sure you'll be hearing from me again. Auntie M has a lot of canine and feline friends, but I know in my heart of hearts, she loves ME best!
