Who Does Auntie M Think She Is?! Jane Fonda??!!

   Greetings! (Yawn!) I am Mattie - Golden Retriever, and senior animal member of this household! I understand that Auntie M will be here for a couple of weeks. That's fine with me- but I do have a few concerns! What is with this "walking" thing? I can't seem to convince her that I was made for sleeping, Not walking!

   My other issue is temperature! I LOVE the cold! I have a beautiful, thick , silky coat. Although Auntie M brushes me almost every day, my coat is heavy! So, in warmer temperatures I just like to snooze! The other day Auntie M nudged me gently to see if I was alive! Since I hadn't moved in a few hours, she wasn't sure!


 Yesterday Auntie M announced it was time for a walk! What?! Again!? I got as far as the porch! I put on my breaks! I simply refused to move! When that happens, even Auntie M can't budge me!! I simply don't see the benefit in this exercise thing! Sometimes I get to the end of the driveway and simply sit down!


 The one time I do move quickly is when the other Golden, Ellie, barks at passer byers. After all, it is more fun to have two big Golden's barking their heads off- rather than just one. So, ya. I'm laid back. I let Ellie get into trouble and lead in the barking thing. (As well as the walking thing!) It just seems to be a waste of precious sleep time!


   The other time I get excited is at meal time. Now, that's something worth getting excited about! Once in a while Auntie M will boil an egg to put with my food. She says it keeps my coat pretty. Well, I'm all for that!
