Marcy's Animal Blog- Mowgli The Cat- A Feline's Diary!

Dear Diary-

Today was one of those busy days!!  Overseeing two Golden Retrievers plus Auntie M can be quite the task!

As Auntie M prepared breakfast for the Golden Girls, I of course supervised! I needed to be sure they were getting a good start to their day!

It's my job to remain aloof as much as possible! However, breakfast is one of my favorite times of the day, and I could not contain myself waiting for Auntie M to prepare it! I'm ashamed to say, I acted like a kitten when the food came out!! I accidently rubbed Auntie M's hand hard with my whole body while she was putting in the dry food- sending it in all directions! What a mess! I tried to help clean up by carefully eating a few morsals, but Auntie M had to clean up most of it herself. She grumbled a bit, so I don't think she was too pleased.----Oh, well. She'll get over it!

When the Goldens went  outside, I joined them. It was a purrrfect time to do a little hunting and exploring while I made sure they didn't get in any trouble! Once I was sure all was well, I went to the dock for a bit of hunting down by the lake. It's one of my favorite spots!

When I was ready to come in- I "knocked" at the deck window. Usually Auntie M hears me, but this time my buddy Ellie sounded the alarm.

I took a few cat naps. I have many "favorite" places to rest.  Auntie M doesn't let me in her bedroom. She thinks I get too much of my fur on the quilt! (Oh brother!) So, my napping spots today were the living room chair, the stairs, and the upstairs dog beds.

Auntie M found some cat nip- and decided to rub my mouse toy with it. There sure is a big difference between a live mouse and a stuffed toy! But to pacify Auntie M, I played with it for a while. -O.k.- I did so love the catnip too!

Ellie is a good friend of mine, and I made sure she got a "tail" hug, feline style.

Auntie M was going out, so I tried to give her a goodbye "tail" hug. She was not pleased with the hair I left on her slacks. (It's not my fault she decided to wear black!)

I have a "perch" I like on the back deck. It gives me a good view of the yard and lake- as well as critters worth hunting!

After the evening meal, I joined the Golden Girls for a bit of fresh air. Auntie M seems to be a worry wart! If I take off for a bit of night prowling, she spends a lot of time calling for me. By now you'd think she'd get the hint. I'm a feline! I come and go as I please! And I ALWAYS come back!

All in all it's been a good day, just a lot of supervisory work! When Auntie M used the dinning room table to wrap some gifts, I did my best to be sure all went well.

I like Auntie M, as do the Golden Girls.. But no one is quite as special as our owners, so will be extra happy in a few days, when they come home! Until then, I'll hang with the Golden Girls and try to keep Auntie M on track!

Until next time, then!

I'd love to put a video camera on my cats' collars to see where they go and what they do when they're out of the house...or perhaps I don't want to know.

Marcy, your adventures with the animals are great! I love that you write from the cat's perspective. It would be fun to know what the cat is up to on her adventures, hunting in the wild. The video camera on the collar could be a great adventure, but every feline likes to keep a few secrets to herself. You'll have to use your imagination :-)
